A systematic review of the status of neuropsychological research and dementia in South Asia

Abstract It is recognised that there a notable presence of psychology and dementia-related issues in South Asian (SA) countries, this problem on the rise. Nevertheless, problems found field neuropsychology are yet to be fully resolved region. Unlike case developed neuropsychology, despite scopes genuine potential, not broadly practised Asia (which constitutes 25% world population), opportunity for extensive research limited. Although India has made substantial progress through establishment neuropsychological units by developing assessment modules based cultural requirements living standards population, rest region lagging far behind sphere health science. Neuropsychology covers vast area brain-behaviour relationships, which cognitive impairment an important part. Except India, other countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal have had specific noteworthy studies but been few works done impairment, neurological assessments. This article focuses reviewing status development Asia, it also assesses quantitative dementia where assessments used.
